Privacy Policy Soundboard+

Deutsche Fassung (German version) Terms (AGB, in German) Legal notice (Impressum, in German)

Note on languages. This is the English version of the privacy policy. A German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is available as well. Both versions are meant to say the same. If you notice a difference, please write to hallo@mk-mc.eu.

This policy covers the app Soundboard+ (iOS and Android). It describes what data the app stores on your device, which services by Google and by Apple or Google Play play a role, and what rights you have. It does not cover the website www.ki-agent.pro, which has its own privacy policy (in German). The purchase terms are in the terms of Soundboard+ (in German).

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR and the publisher of the app (called “the publisher” below) is:

MKMC | marketing & consulting
Owner: Matthias Grevelding Kiesche
Zu den Birken 14a, 51515 Kürten
Germany
E-mail: hallo@mk-mc.eu

The publisher has no server of their own and the app has no user account. Your imported audio files stay on your device. The publisher does not receive personal data from there. What is exchanged between your device and Google, or Apple/Google Play, is processed by those companies under their own terms (sections 4 and 6).

When you write to the publisher

If you write to the publisher, for example by e-mail, the publisher processes your e-mail address and the content of your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request concerns a purchase or a comparable contractual relationship, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The publisher’s legitimate interest is answering requests about the app. The data is deleted once your request has been resolved and no statutory retention period applies.

2. Overview in plain language

  • The app is a soundboard. You import your own audio files and play them through configurable buttons.
  • There is no account, no sign-up and no mandatory fields. The app asks for neither your name, your e-mail address nor your location.
  • Your imported audio files and your boards stay on your device. The publisher has no access to them.
  • The publisher does not use their own crash reporting, push notifications, or advertising.
  • Google’s Firebase Analytics is used to understand how the app is used and where it breaks. This only happens if you give your explicit consent beforehand (section 4).
  • Purchasing the premium version (subscription or lifetime) unlocks the full feature set (section 6).

3. Data stored on your device

The app stores the following content in the local app storage of your device:

  • the audio files you import, which you select through your device’s own file picker;
  • your boards and buttons (which audio file is assigned to which button, names, order);
  • a flag indicating whether the premium version was purchased. It is only a local cache; the authoritative check happens with Apple or Google Play (section 6);
  • your consent decision for Firebase Analytics (section 4).

The app does not transmit this content to the publisher or to third parties. It stays until you change it in the app or delete the app. If you back up your device, for example to iCloud, Google Drive or a computer, your operating system may include app data in that backup. You control this in your system settings.

Because this data only lives on your device and the publisher has no access to it, the publisher does not process it themselves. To the extent that storing your audio files, boards and the purchase flag is still considered processing by the publisher, it relies on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the app features you use).

Permissions

The app requests access to local device storage (or the system’s file picker) to let you import your own audio files, and the background audio playback permission, so sounds can keep playing while the screen is locked or the app is in the background. Neither involves the app collecting or transmitting personal data. The app does not request access to the microphone, camera, location, contacts, calendar or health data.

You are solely responsible for making sure that audio files you import do not infringe third-party rights, in particular copyright and related rights. The publisher has no knowledge of the audio files stored locally on your device.

4. Firebase Analytics (Google LLC)

The app uses Firebase Analytics by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, to collect usage statistics and detect errors. For this, Firebase Analytics accesses identifiers on your device.

Before Firebase Analytics starts for the first time, the app shows a consent dialog. If you decline or make no choice, Firebase Analytics stays disabled and the app works unchanged. Only with your explicit consent does the app call Firebase Analytics.

Data categories processed once you consent:

  • device identifier (IDFV on iOS, or the advertising ID on Android; the IDFA on iOS only after separate, explicit ATT consent in addition to analytics consent);
  • operating system version, device model and manufacturer;
  • approximate location (IP-based, no GPS);
  • usage events, session data, app version, crash reports.

The purpose is improving functionality, error analysis and usage statistics. The legal basis is § 25(1) TDDDG (the German telecommunications-privacy act) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Consent is voluntary; if you refuse or withdraw it, the app remains fully usable.

How long Google retains this data depends on the retention period configured in the Firebase/Google Analytics console; Google offers configurable periods between two and fourteen months for event- and user-level data, after which it is deleted automatically. Current details are published by Google in its own privacy notices (links below).

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Google LLC for this processing.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR), through the corresponding setting in the app. Processing up to that point remains lawful.

5. No advertising, no further analytics services

Soundboard+ shows no advertising and, apart from Firebase Analytics (section 4), uses no further analytics, tracking or crash-reporting software.

6. In-app purchase (Apple App Store / Google Play)

To unlock the premium version (subscription or lifetime one-time purchase), you are redirected to Apple or Google Play. Payment processing and the related processing of personal data (e.g. Apple ID or Google account, payment data, purchase history) is carried out exclusively by Apple Inc. or Google LLC under their own responsibility. The publisher receives only a purchase confirmation (purchase status, transaction ID) from Apple or Google Play, without access to full payment data.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the purchase contract); Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (German statutory retention rules, §147 AO, §257 HGB). Retention period: 10 years (statutory retention obligation). Third-country transfer: USA – adequacy decision EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (10 July 2023, C(2023) 4745) and standard contractual clauses (2021/914/EU), to the extent Google or Apple transfer data to the USA. The exact terms, cancellation and withdrawal rules are in the terms of Soundboard+ (in German).

7. Push notifications

Push notifications are not built into the current version. If the publisher introduces them in a later version, your explicit consent will be requested beforehand (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with §25(1) TDDDG) and this policy will be updated accordingly.

8. Retention periods at a glance

  • Audio files, boards and flags on your device: until you change them or delete the app.
  • Consent decision for Firebase Analytics: until you change it or delete the app.
  • Usage data at Google (Firebase Analytics): per the configurable periods named in section 4.
  • Data at Apple/Google Play (purchase): per their own terms.
  • E-mails to the publisher: until your request is resolved; for a contractual relationship, beyond that per statutory retention periods.

9. Recipients and third-country transfers

Google

The recipient of data from Firebase Analytics is Google (section 4). Google LLC is based in the USA. Google may therefore process data in the USA and in other countries outside the European Economic Area. The basis and safeguards for this are set out in Google’s own privacy and contractual terms.

Apple and Google Play

Apple and Google Play are involved in distributing the app and in purchasing the premium version. Both process the resulting data under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google). Both companies belong to groups based in the USA; processing there or in other third countries is possible.

Reports from Apple and Google

Apple and Google provide developers with sales and download figures as well as aggregated app analytics and crash reports, to the extent users have allowed this in their respective system settings. The publisher does not use their own crash-reporting software.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw a given consent at any time with effect for the future (section 4).

Please contact hallo@mk-mc.eu for this. For data that only lives on your device, at Google, at Apple or at Google Play, and that the publisher cannot access, use the options in sections 3, 4 and 6, or contact those companies directly.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), including the authority at your habitual residence. The authority responsible for the publisher is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).

11. Changes and date

This policy is updated whenever the app, the services used, or the legal requirements change. The version in force at any time is the one published at this address. Last updated: October 12, 2026.
